Following the death of his father, Gabriël lives a secluded life in the countryside with his mother. When he discovers a dead dove in the garden, something strange and quietly miraculous begins to unfold, opening up new perspectives for both of them.
Bird Boy (2025) explores themes of escapism and healing a story about loss and recovery, about breaking free from destructive cycles, and about the intricate bond between parent and child.
For this project, I was responsible for the design and realisation of the interior spaces, shaping environments that reflect the emotional landscape of the characters. Drawing on subtle 90’s references, I worked with texture, colour, and composition to create spaces that feel both intimate and slightly suspended in time, supporting the film’s introspective tone.
